NAMEC Awards 2019
By Bethany Fristad - February 15, 2019

Global is pleased to have won the awards for Best Practice in Innovative Education Methods along with Best Practice in Collaboration Among Stakeholders.
NAMEC is a professional association dedicated to providing representation, advocacy, and education for its members. NAMEC supports the advancement of certified education as an integral part of the healthcare community in improving patient health outcomes. NAMEC fosters increased collaboration among certified education stakeholders and serves as a forum for discussion of issues, challenges, and opportunities relevant to both MECs and the certified education companies.
Best Practice in Innovative Education Methods acknowledges evidence of innovative methods for educating an intended audience(s). Audiences include patients, a single health care profession, multiple health care professions, or a combination of these groups. Activities include patient education, interprofessional education, use of technology, and other methods used to address the identified needs of the clinical setting and intended target audiences(s).
Global received the Best Practice Award in Advanced Trauma Training, which was jointly provided with 2SRG. The target audience was primary care providers assigned to high threat U.S. Embassies around the world. The Department of State requested additional combat trauma training for the primary care providers stationed overseas at the U.S. Embassies. Because of this activity learners were able to not only understand the TCCC guidelines as set forth by the committee, but they were able to implement what they learned into real-life simulation of a MASCAL event. 100% of the learners who completed the post-activity evaluations were extremely satisfied with what they learned during this course as well as satisfied with the structure of the course.
Best Practice in Collaboration Among CME Stakeholders acknowledges activities that include policies or procedures to facilitate collaboration, or a unique way to collaborate, or illustrate a collaborative partnership with a CME stakeholder.
Global received Best Practice in Collaboration Among CME Stakeholders by collaborating with Haymarket Medical Education on the activity: Adopting a Patient-Centered Approach to Improve Outcomes and Quality of Life with Overactive Bladder. Despite the existence of effective interventions, management of the condition is frequently suboptimal. In recognition of the global need for quality clinical education about the condition, four prestigious urology organizations from the United States, Europe, and Asia collaborated with Global Education Group and Haymarket Medical Education in 2017 to create the OAB Learning Center, a comprehensive continuing education curriculum designed to convey best practices in the diagnosis and treatment of this debilitating chronic condition across geographical boundaries.
Global appreciates the opportunity to have accepted these awards. We would like to thank NAMEC for their hard work and dedication to the CME industry.Â
