UMA works closely with an advisory board from the medical community to ensure that its curriculum, equipment, and instruction are current and relevant. Members of the advisory board also help develop new programs and open their doors to many UMA students through externships.
UMA is institutionally accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES), although ABHES accreditation does not extend to continuing education programs. Continuing education programs for Global are programmatically accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME).
