On January 12, 2016 the ACCME released a new set of proposed criteria for Accredited CME providers who hope to achieve ACCME Accreditation with Commendation. ACCME accredited providers are encouraged to review and submit feedback on these new set of guidelines, and will have the chance to do so until
February 16, 2016.
Categories of Proposed Criteria for Accreditation with Commendation
The ACCME has released 16 new criteria, which are grouped into five categories:
• Inclusive Teaching and Learning
• Addressing Public Health Priorities
• Creating Behavioral Change
• Demonstrating Leadership
• Achieving Outcomes
Accredited Providers should continue to comply with existing Accreditation Criteria 16-22, in addition to Criteria 1-13, to achieve commendation. There will be an extended transition period during which accredited providers can choose to demonstrate compliance with the current
or new commendation criteria. After the transition period, all accredited providers will need to comply with existing core Accreditation Areas 1-13, as well meeting the proposed new or existing criteria.
You can view the full details of the requirements on
the ACCME's website, where you will be able to review all new proposed criteria and submit any feedback.
