Global Spotlight: Amanda Hodges

May 08, 2013

When she isn’t in the Global office overseeing the program team, (or moonlighting for Colorado Runner Magazine as a Web Editor) Amanda spends her remaining free time training for and competing in ultramarathons. An ultramarathon is defined as any race over the normal marathon distance of 26.2 miles, and ultra courses take runners through extreme conditions and variable terrain.

Amanda’s most recent race was at the Canyonlands in Moab, Utah on March 17th, but she isn’t done competing in 2013 just yet. Next up is the Leadville Silver Rush 50 Mile in July, followed by The Pike’s Peak Marathon in August and The Bear Chase 100K in September, which was the spot of her 2012 engagement to her fiancé, Pete. Amanda enjoys competing in ultras because while the courses are both challenging and beautiful, they are also a great way to escape from the daily norm and push her limits.
