Global to host cannabis and medical marijuana CME Conference in Denver, October 4, 2019

Global Education Group is pleased to announce that we will be hosting a CME / CE conference on October 4, 2019, in Denver, CO. CMP 2019 focuses on the entire endocannabinoid system, medical cannabis, and marijuana.

Controversies in Medicine and Policy Symposium: The State of Evidence for Cannabinoids - Scientific and Regulatory Issues (CMP 2019) is an educational and accredited CME / CE live conference which, due to its multidisciplinary nature, will highlight the endocannabinoid system, its management, and relevant policy and laws. The faculty will speak from their expertise as physicians and lawyers in the marijuana industry.

CMP Symposium 2019 is designed to be an exchange of ideas between participants and the expert faculty and will provide lectures on scientific and regulatory issues, including recent research, policy, diagnostics, and therapeutic advances. Participants will learn about medical cannabis and evidence-based policies to consider implementing in their daily practice and be informed about the possibilities for continuous medical education. Participants will also learn about clinical trial designs, how to become successful investigators of co-operative research groups, and how to be better informed about patient support.

Overall, the participants of Controversies in Medicine and Policy Symposium: The State of Evidence for Cannabinoids - Scientific and Regulatory Issues (CMP 2019) will benefit from learning about recent and emerging clinical practices involving the endocannabinoid system.

Learning Objectives
After completing this activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Outline the endocannabinoid system.
  2. Review the current evidence-based indications for the use of cannabis.
  3. Review the effects of cannabis use, including physiological effects.
  4. Describe the Colorado experience after mass commercialization of cannabis for medical purposes.
  5. Review Colorado Medical Board Rules, Regulations and Policies impact on cannabinoid use.
  6. Recognize FDA policy and regulation of CBD-containing products for therapeutic use.
  7. Explain the interaction of cannabis and opioids.
  8. Review the known risks for psychiatric complications related to cannabinoid use.
  9. Discuss recent studies of cannabinoids in the treatment of psychiatric disorders.
  10. Discuss what is known about cannabinoid exposure in developing brains.
  11. Identify major epidemiological trends associated with cannabis legalization.
  12. Describe common emergency department presentations related to cannabis use.
  13. Identify best practices for discussing cannabinoid use in Colorado’s legal and regulatory climate.

Fee & Refund/Cancellation Policy

A refund will be issued for cancellations on or before 9/4/2019 less a $79 administration fee. No refunds will be permitted after 9/4/2019. Registrations may, however, be transferred to another individual or to a future meeting.
