2014 CME Conference Summary

September 26th, 2014 marked the final day of the 2014 Alliance Quality Symposium in Baltimore, which also completed Global’s presence at tradeshows and conferences for the year. It’s incredible how quickly the year has come and gone - attending conferences all over the country from Orlando to San Francisco, to Baltimore and Philadelphia really does make time fly. We are pleased we had the opportunity to meet and catch up with you many of you throughout the course of this conference year, yet a bit disappointed that we missed so many of you! As we move into the last few months of 2014 and prepare for the year ahead we’d like to recap and share our presence at CME conferences over the past year. •ACEhp 39th Annual Conference: January 15-18th, Orlando, FL: Considered to be the flagship of CME / CE industry conferences, the 39th Annual Conference featured over 1300 attendees and 50 exhibiting organizations. Global staff members were asked to speak during a number of sessions over the four day conference, including presentations on Outcomes budgeting, Conflict of Interest in CME, and Global’s Opioids in REMS program. •CBI West: April 29-30th, San Francisco, CA: The Medical Education & Research Grants Breakthrough Summit offered attendees a chance to participate in in-depth discussions on how the future of healthcare impacts the medical education industry. Global’s General Manager Stephen Lewis was asked to a co-chair the three day event, which featured other distinguished speakers and presenters from pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers, specialty societies and medical education companies. •CBI East: September 9th-10th, Philadelphia, PA: Similar to the previous meeting in San Francisco, the CBI East Independent Medical Education and Grants Breakthrough summit shifted its focus for attendees, with information presented on grants that deliver innovative solutions to quality-driven medical education. Stephen Lewis was again asked to speak at the CBI meeting and his presentation, “CME Value: Who? What? How?” focused on data gathered and analyzed from Global’s three phases of CME value research, as well as our newest research project, the Quality IME Grants Survey. •The ACEhp Quality Symposium: September 23rd-25th, Baltimore, MD: The last major industry conference of the year, The Alliance Quality Symposium brought together over 60 faculty thought leaders to discuss best practices for using and acquiring data for quality improvement CME / CE activities. Global was one of sixteen organizations that exhibited throughout the three day conference that had more than 250 attendees. Next up on Global’s conference agenda: The 40th Annual Alliance Conference, January 14th-17th in Grapevine, TX. Global will again be exhibiting at this year’s conference, and we are excited for the opportunity to collaborate and share our knowledge and insight with the CME community.
