Global Earns ACCME Accreditation

Global today announced that it earned full, four-year ACCME accreditation status from the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), including a finding of “compliance” with five of the seven criteria required for Accreditation with Commendation. “At the same time we feel honored to receive such excellent marks from the ACCME, we are proud of the teamwork between Global staff and our education partners,” said Global President and CEO Stephen Lewis, MA, CCMEP. “By relying on Six Sigma processes and collaborating with joint sponsors and other organizations that focus on advancing professional practices with excellent CME, we are improving outcomes and patient care.” The ACCME found Global compliant with all 15 of the standard accreditation criteria, including those addressing independence from commercial interests, appropriate management of commercial support, and development of educational interventions designed to change competence, performance, or patient outcomes as part of Global’s CME mission. In addition, the ACCME noted that Global demonstrated compliance with five of the seven criteria required for Accreditation with Commendation. The ACCME found Global compliant with Criteria 17, 18, 19, 20, and 22. Global’s renewed ACCME accreditation period runs through July 31, 2014.
